Pleasant View has a pastor, Dave Gullman, who provides spiritual support to the individuals within Pleasant View and, through Faith and Light, in our community.
Prayer and Spiritual Counseling: Dave visits the various locations within Pleasant View to develop relationships, offer support, counsel and prayer as requested. Individuals can also visit the Prayer Room at the Harrisonburg Day Support Services Building.
Faith and Light: Dave, with Mike Shenk, leads a Faith and Light worship service, open to the community, each month. Faith and Light is an international Christian association with intellectually disabled people, their parents, and friends. The service is complete with worship led by a worship team, music, teaching and ministry, and a time of fellowship.
Library: There is a growing library with books about the spiritual lives of people with intellectual disablities, inspiration and encouragement.
Crisis and Grief Care: Pleasant View has been able to provide care through end-of-life events and spiritual care is provided to the individual as well as those in close relationship–including housemates and support staff. Dave has ministered to individuals in the hospital, in hospice at home, and conducted funerals for individuals within Pleasant View. We are honored to be able to provide this type of care.
Pleasant View Worship Team: The worship team is a fun and meaningful community outreach in which anyone supported by Pleasant View may participate. Our team is invited to local churches, community organizations, and clubs to share their gifts of vocal choir, bell choir, scripture reading, and message. You may invite our team by contacting Dave Gullman at 540-433-8960.
