Group Day Support Servicesare provided in our Harrisonburg Day Program. Activities focused on weekly themes are planned with varied site-based fun and community outings.  We are currently providing these services for individuals we serve in our residential programs. (Pleasant View has been providing group day support services since June 1979)

Community Engagement(started 2018) services provide individuals who have disabilities opportunities to build naturally supportive relationships with people who live, work, and/or volunteer in their local areas. Through a ratio of one staff member to three individuals (1:3), we provide each person a chance to access and participate in typical day-to-day activities the general population encounters on a regular basis. As individuals develop natural relationships with their community members, they become more confident in how they relate with others.

Supported Employment (started in 1998) has an operating principal that all individuals who have disabilities have the ability and desire to work competitively given the right supports. Our job coaches help individuals with job development, employment planning, and employment supports. Using the Individual Support model, a job coach provides one-to-one support to a worker in an employment position until support can be decreased gradually as the worker becomes more proficient.
